Hello everyone! Today I have been playing with Flowering Cactus. Since I live in the desert I couldn’t resist this set and the Flowering Cactus Product Medley. We are coming up on spring here in Lake Havasu and the desert truly does come alive. We used to ride the horses every morning and enjoyed the beauty that is here right before us. What beautiful colors……..from pinks to blues and all colors in between. Before we moved here My mom used to say the desert was beautiful and I used to always reply “Mom, you’ve been in the heat too long”. We lived in southern California and were here every weekend to ski the lake not ride in the desert. I guess it is a matter of perspective! Fast forward 30 years and the desert is more appealing than ever! Don’t get me wrong………the lake is beautiful but so is the desert!
Today’s Project – Flowering Cactus
This project is a Wednesday Technique Tuesday! lol This card is a remake of a card I taught in class many many years ago. It’s an easy “tearing” technique, making the paper bring to life the colors of the desert. I will sponge the cactus, giving it texture. The video below will step you thru the process. After the video click HERE for a FREE PDF photo tutorial/supply list as my gift to you. If you need any supplies click HERE or on any of the items below and it will take you to my online store.

You can stamp the sentiment with Versamark clear ink and heat emboss with white embossing powder, or Stampin Up carries a white craft ink that shows up on dark colors. 😊
